I Heart Ambon
For you who have never visitied Ambon, Indonesia, you’ve been missing one of the most beautiful things in life
Think of Bali beaches, Puncak roads, but less crowded. Much much less crowded. And oh, the beaches.. not just gorgeous, they’re still pretty much virgins. Rare for people, rare for beaches
Don’t start with the food, they have unique varieties of food that you would gladly break your diet for (personal experience!), and please don’t let me start with the generous and warm people in Ambon.
Recommendations to visit in Ambon: Rumah Kopi Joas (coffee house, yummy food and the best tasting coffee), Natsepa Beach (try the fruit rujak), Tirta Kencana (try their kasbi.. evilish sambal! Nyum!). More food to try? Bagea, roti kenari, kasbi, papeda, various fishes (too bad I can’t eat this – vegetarian), nasi kuning, pisang bola-bola, and ampas tarigu.
Staying for five days, teaching some radio classes for 87.7 Rock FM Ambon gave me the privileges to enjoy all of those above. Had a wonderful trip there, and looking forward to my next visit.
