Many of us don’t like the word ‘pause’. Especially our gadget-savvy generation, living in a very instant world, everything runs so fast, and when it doesn’t, we think something is wrong.
How many times have we been facing that moment, where we need to make a decision, and we decide to make the fastest decision ever? Sometimes it has nothing to do with urgency, simply because we, as human, want to get over with things instantly.
Too many people rushing into relationships, deciding to get married, choosing jobs, finding schools, without considering consequences, risks, and impacts. We often forget that those things come in a package, and most of the time, those things that are too quickly being made, are too risky to have.
Why don’t we like to pause?
I think it has everything to do with impatience. We think we’re running out of time. We think we know best. We think there is nothing else better than what is in front of our eyes. We don’t want to wait. We simply can’t stand the process that involves PAUSING.
Me, myself, dislike the word ‘pause’. I feel powerless when I have to take a break, consciously knowing that I am on PAUSE and letting things happen the way they should. Even now, after I have decided to pause.. I’m still having questions.
For how long?
What do I have to lose?
Will I miss great things?
If I do miss it, will there any second chances?
How do I stay calm on PAUSE, while I see my friends running around busy deciding things? Making impulsive actions, living their lives dangerously, putting their lives at stake, those are the things that excite me (most of the time).
But you know what, to PAUSE is actually takes a lot of guts. It IS also exciting!
The word ‘pause’ is not a passive word, it’s active. WE MAKE THE DECISION TO PAUSE.
Oh yeah, I have made that decision. It started as something that was very painful, but now I’m (kinda) used to it.
While everybody else rushing to make impulsive decisions, I am just going to PAUSE. Watching them running around, torn apart, breaking to pieces, losing themselves, and I am here..
Resting. Watching. Learning. Guarding. Waiting.
Until THAT day comes, whenever I am ready, the right somebody will come into my PAUSED (||) life and press PLAY (>). Looking forward to that day, but now I am cherishing my today. No FAST FORWARD (>>) needed.
My life is on || and I’m loving it!

Umm.. nggak terlalu suka nostalgiaan nih hehehe.. I’d rather focused on the present and future, past is being given to take lessons from.. itu sih pendapat pribadi aja
